The Boston Metro Hi-Railers is the largest Hi- Rail train club of its kind in New England. We strive for realism while
accepting the compromises in scale associated with toy train equipment.
Following our move to the 2nd floor of our location at 5 Waltham St. in Wilmington, MA, the club re-assembled its layout into a new 40’ by 60’ space with more
than 1500 feet of O-gauge track capable of running up to twelve
model trains at the same time. The club has set for itself the goal of modeling,
in the approximate scale of 1:48 inches (twice the size of HO trains),
scenes in Pennsylvania, New York State, Massachusetts, and Maine in the mid 1950’s era as railroads were transitioning from steam locomotives to diesel engines. Members run their own equipment on club owned track as they share the enthusiasm for all things trains.
While the journey to complete the layut will never end, the track work is complete. We are now running trains while turning our attention to scenery work.
